When you click the download button, you will be downloading a single file to your system with an extension .ZIP, for example MINMAN32.ZIP or MINMANP.ZIP. You can save this file to any directory on your system that you wish. Some users prefer to create a directory C:\DOWNLOAD or C:\TEMP for such purposes.
This file must be decompressed or "unzipped" to yield the full set of installation files. You can use any of the standard "unzipping" files available such as WinZip or 7-Zip.
Once you have unzipped the files, you will see one labeled SETUP.EXE. Just run SETUP.EXE and follow the installation instructions.
After the program is installed you can delete the file MINMAN32.ZIP or MINMANP.ZIP as well as the 'unzipped' files.
Most computers already have one of these installed. If you click on the .ZIP file it should launch one of them.
If your system does not have an unzipping tool, you can use WinZip or 7-Zip.
Only a decompressing program like WinZip or 7-Zip should launch when you double-click the ZIP file. If some other application launches, there is some problem on your computer. Often this means that Windows has "associated" that application specifically with .ZIP extension, or as a default for any extensions it does not recognize. .
The correction for this will depend on how your computer is setup, but you can work on it (on your Windows desktop) by clicking My Computer, and View and Folder Options and File Types.
In Windows '95, if you simultaneously press CTRL, ALT, and DEL a menu will come up showing you which programs are still running, and it will allow you to select ones to shut off.
A common problem is if you ran a browser such as Netscape prior to doing the installation. Even if Netscape were shut off, it may have left other processes running. It is recommended to shut off Netscape, reboot your system, and install MinuteMan before doing anything else.
